I was told by someone that the dots represents years of exp and if I have four dots - i can be the accompanying driver. Would someone please clarify this? Dots on the license - I have four dots on my license, located to the left of the hologram, aligned vertically. Now its not clear to me if this 4yrs is after obtaining the G license or general driving experience since obtaining my G1.

Highway Act Interpretation - based on my interpretation of the act, the G1 driver needs to be accompanied by a full G license driver with 4yrs exp.

by on I have had my G for almost two years, and had my G1 since May 2009 (Prior to this I have had 4yrs experience in a country without reciprocal agreement-but i did receive driving credit).

Another quick question, how do we know if we can 'teach' g1 drivers, someone told me that if there are 4 black dots on the front neat the bottom. The four digits which follow that letter, indicate the name. S for Smith, R for Roberts, B for Black and so on.

The initialletter is the first letter of the driver's last name. The Ontario driver's license has 15 letters and digits.
